Enclosure.
152
Hon. Colonial Seoretary
I herewith forward a letter from the Vice-
Chancellor of the University applying for an extension of I.L. 1859, which is situated to the westward of the shektongt sui Nullah. I enolcse a plan on which the existing boundaries of the lot are shown by chain-dotted lines and the boundaries which I now propose are
shown edged in red.
2. When the lot was originally set out, there was nothing to aid in defining the southern boundary, but, since then, a roadway, containing the rising mains to the Peak and High Level Service Reservoirs, has been constructed, as indicated on the plan. Pokfulam Road has also been diverted slightly where it pasess the
lct.

The area invipved in the extension is :-
Area within proposed boundaries
#
H existing Extension eq. ft.
*
S. F. 42,970
8,413 .14,557
======
As the additional area possesses no fcntage to any public road,
-
the road occupied by the rising-mains being a private one leading
to the Pumping Station it is of little value except as an
extension to I. L. 1859.
4.
I assess the value of the area as follows:
Premium, 14,557 eq. ft. @ 10 £
=
1,455.70
Crown rent @ $300 per aore
-$100 per annum, ospitalized
at 7% or 14 years' purchase
Total
1,400.00
$2,855.70

5.
The extension is necessary to admit of the erection of buildings which have recently been presented to the University and which, or account of the purposes for which they are to be utilized, it is desired to erect in proximity to the school of Anatomy.
